Consumer demand for the remixes on vinyl led to two boxed sets being issued in late 2018, but they're now available in Limited edition individual albums release with 2,000 units per title, pressed on 200 gram vinyl.

King Crimson was conceived in November of 1968 and born on January 13th 1969 in the Fulham Palace Cafe, London (Robert Fripp/Ian McDonald/Greg Lake/Michael Giles/Pete Sinfield), coming to prominence after supporting The Rolling Stones at Hyde Park. Their ground-breaking debut In The Court Of The Crimson King (1969) described by Pete Townshend as "an uncanny masterpiece," began a career that has spanned four decades and influenced many bands and individuals including Yes, Genesis, Tool, and Porcupine Tree.
Despite the original line-up imploding after an American tour King Crimson continued to produce constantly challenging and intriguing music on albums such as In The Wake of Poseidon (1970), Lizard (1970), Islands (1971), Earthbound (1972), Larks' Tongues in Aspic (1973) and Red (1974). Following Red, an exhausted Fripp declared "King Crimson is completely over for ever and ever," although the group would reconvene 7 years later.

With its raw tone, inspired improvisations and hard hitting odd-metered rhythms, King Crimson's fifth full-length Larks' Tongues In Aspic (1973) is widely regarded as one of the band's truly great albums. The enterprising 6-track effort marked a radical departure for this most forward thinking of groups and was the first to include Bill Bruford (Yes) and John Wetton (Family) as band members. Most of the material on the album quickly became established as part of the band's live set with tracks like the title cut and "Talking Drum" often becoming the starting points/springboards for the improvisations integral to King Crimson's elastic performances. Effectively, Larks' Tongues In Aspic is the first part of a trilogy that also encompassed Starless and Bible Black (1974) and Red (1974), a body of work that still sounds remarkable over 45 years later!
