Zubin Mehta conducts the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra in a performance of Gustav Mahler's 2-part, 6-movement Symphony No. 3 In D Minor with Maureen Forrester (contralto), Sidney Harth (violin) and Robert di Vall (posthorn). Made in March of 1978 at Royce Hall in Los Angeles, CA by recording engineers James Lock and Simon Eadon, this staging of Mahler's Symphony No. 3 is considered to be one of the best Decca recordings available. Mastered by veteran engineer Willem Makkee from the original tapes on a Neumann VMS 80 lathe, you can now experience the overwhelming sonics on a flattering 180g 2LP-set from Analogue Productions cut at 33 1/3 rpm by Quality Record Pressings.
